Over 70 MTB folks from all parts attended this year's Ronnie Thomson Appreciation Day Saturday 14 Jan 06. The day went off without any major hitches. A local NBC affiliate even came by to document the occasion. Participants showed up in force at about 10 AM for plant tours hosted by LH Thomson. State-of-the-art machine tools and equipment produce what are arguably the best seatposts and stems in the industry.

Night riding at Roswell Big Creek Park? Looks good with City of Roswell’s insurance company. Will keep you posted. Until then, looks like Forsyth's Central Park is our only close option.
New Big Creek parking lot with restrooms will eventually be build at the trail head of the new paved walking path.
For connecting trail watchers: DOT has granted 800K to build a tunnel under Holcombe Bridge to connect the Big Creek Greenway to the River Greenway. Stay tuned.
Honorable Mayor and bicycling advocate Jere Wood announced a big political push for cycling in GA. On Tuesday, March 7, Roswell to State Capital Ride bike lovers of all skill levels are encouraged to join with their helmet and bikes. Plan to take the Tueday off for a worthy cause. Police escort and ride helpers will ensure a safe ride to our capital. Hook up with the caravan at any point along the route, just be sure to be at the capital with your bike! Right now the ride is scheduled to leave from Roswell City Hall at 10AM, ride 25 miles thru Roswell, Sandy Springs, Fulton County, City of Atlanta to end up at our state capital. Bring MARTA fare if you don't want to make the ride back. More details to come. If this kind of event doesn't convince lawmakers that we need to encourage bike-friendly roads, MTB trails for fitness, and an alternative mode of transport... what will?
