SORBA VIP to visit RAMBO

Tom Sauret, Executive Director of SORBA, is planning to pay us a visit, answer any questions, bring us up to date with all the goings on at SORBA and IMBA, and share a brewski with us. Come join us at Tony's at our July meeting, July 9th, 09.
RAMBO '09 Meetings
Club Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at Tony's (across from Red Lobster on Holcomb Bridge Road) at 7pm. Come gather early, stay late to share MTB experiences. Roswell, GA 30076 Telephone: 770-993-2834 Come out and meet your fellow mountain bikers, find a new riding partner, place to ride, or swap stuff and trail stories. Work parties generally meet at 9AM at location noted, last til lunch (which is provided), and a ride after almost always follows. Board Meetings may be held separately to keep club meetings flowing. Master Calendar Maker Eases MTB Scheduling
Mike Young has created a Google RAMBO calendar from club member Joe's tremendous effort. We now have access to not 1, but 4 calendars, all with different types of events:
RAMBO Chapter
SORBA
Southeast Races
Woodstock Chapter
To integrate these calendar events into your own Google calendar:
1) Create a Google Account if you do not already have one.
2) Open each of the calendars above and click on the tiny "Subscribe" link at the bottom right of the calendar.
3) Follow subsequent instructions.
As dates and details change, you will then get automatic updates. Extra credit:If you use Google homepage, you can add the calendar to homepage.

RAMBO RIDES
RAMBO Tanasi Group Ride 11 July 09
All are invited to spend an MTB day with RAMBO at Tanasi, Saturday, July 11th. Meet at the Roswell Big Creek parking lot at 8AM for carpooling. RTR at Tanasi about 10:30 am. All ride levels accommodated. Lunch provided, donations accepted. Please email Ride Director Joe Baker your plan to come, and other ride sharing arrangements: jbaker@kcc.com
How about a group ride instead?
Instead of July and August work parties, RAMBO is going to have group rides and BBQ's!! Attendance and fun is mandatory! We will work out the details, but tentative plans: Tanasi - July 11th Group Day Ride Bent Creek - August 8th. Weekend Camp Out

Mountain, Freeride Bike Courses at Central Park
Beginner Mountain Bike Courses Retired Gainesville College mountain bike coach Kelly Parham teaches basic bike care, safety, and riding techniques at Central Park during this 2 hour course to prepare you for your mountain biking excursions. Test your new skills on Central Park’s 3 mile mountain bike trail. Riders must bring a bike, helmet and water and must be able to ride the bike. Fee: $15 ea. Enrollment is required at least three days prior to the start of class Jul 18, Ages 6 + Sat 10:00am-12:00pm, Activity no. 361002-B Aug 15, Ages 6 + Sat 10:00am-12:00pm, Activity no. 361002-C

RAMBO group rides are coordinated by...
dedicated RAMBO Ride Directors well qualified to guide all skill levels. Planned MTB rides are listed below. However, we entertain and encourage all requests. For scheduled rides, it is important to notify us in advance of your intent to attend. Drop us a line via our contact form at http://www.rambo-mtb.org/about.php. Remember to bring: helmet, nourishment and water for 1-2 hours of exercise, appropriate clothing for the ride’s weather, tools, equipment or gear to ensure a fun, safe ride. As always...NO HELMET - NO RIDE.
08 rides planning input sought
Day and weekend rides input sought. Please email ride coordinator Joe with dates that you can ride and then we can see about getting things on the Calendar. Do a return trip to the fab FATs redux? (see November 07 Pix http://www.rambo-mtb.org/gallery/rambofats07) Day rides to Raccoon, Conyers, Blankets to hit the new trail, Chicopee to hit the new stuff, Dauset, ...(and anyplace else you want to go) are all possible. Do we want to start up the Big Creek Weekly rides again? A bike is a terrible thing to let go to waste!
